surrendering to Anya Hindmarch

Once again, my "rock-hard" idealism has disappointed me.
I have, once again, surrendered to mainstream indonesian fashion trends. First it was the ballet flats (its variety of colors and designs have melted my cold heart). now, it's the Anya Hindmarch bags. Its been almost 2 years since the start of the trend, yet, after years of rejecting the idea of having a picture of yourself on a bag, I have now finally accepted the fashion phenomenon with arms wide open. Whilst others are seemingly growing tired of their bags, here I am, pondering on ways of getting the bag, comparing prices, and, deciding which design I should take. Cat, dog, cow, be-a-bag... just buy me one and I'll shut up.

i've found my darkness

and, once again
he escorted me to find my darkness.

a long, wispy trail of ever-blinding doubt.
nothing to soothe the sorrow,
everything to ease the pain

he turned and whispered goodbye to my demons.

and they shook him out of their memories,
found triumph in battling my woes
yet plunged me deeper into dreams of darken fairies

i've let the darkness take over me
and, once again,
it had me completed

24% nerdy, 76% trendy

You Are 24% Nerdy

You're a little nerdy, but no one would ever call you a nerd.
You sometimes get into nerdy things, but only after they've become a part of mainstream culture.
How Nerdy Are You?

im only 24% nerdy? my boyfriend would be so embarrassed.

24/7 weekend people

today,
i completed one of my responsibilities as a citizen of a democratized indonesia.
i took a part in the provisional elections for my dear hometown.
(cough, as much as i usually declare myself as a true jakartian, my house is indeed within the boundaries of banten province)

in other news...
a riot consisting of a large group of civilians, in an angry protest against the loss of their chosen candidate for the provisional elections, ruined the structure of the city hall (where the elections took place) in lombok, indonesia.
i guess that just shows the mentality of indonesians: they are sore losers.

[yesterday]
was a great saturday night. after a long day of following the parents around (Er...), i caught up with my mates and found that an impromptu highschool reunion was taking place in scoops, kebayoran baru. then a number of us continued the night in shisha cafe and ended it in circle k. it was great seeing all of you :)

oh, and happy 16 month anniversary. congrats, within each day you are just setting off another record for me :)

trend-spotting

yeah! i've gotten 2 peeps to move their blog to blogspot. all hail the power of "the trend!"
welcome, patito: patitokahlo.blogspot.com and nomi: utopia-nomi.blogspot.com
in other news,
  • Bush's arrival to the Bogor Presidential Palace (which lasted only uh... 6 hours) did not end in any violence (except if you count the numerous demonstrations, anti-bush protests, and bomb threats, but hey, those are as ordinary today as white rice to an indonesian meal)
  • Mini beijing reunion! yihi =D
(apologize for the big-ass size of the pictures. the internet here is so crappy its hard to resize it :( huhu)

recaps

since the bloody desktop died on me (see, my beloved laptop would never do that to me!), i will have to rewrite this post. DUH!

singapore, 13-16 november
shopping, shopping (orchard road - far east plaza), taking pictures, shopping (little india - mustafa), minimal sightseeing, clubbing (clarke quay - ministry of sound), shopping (orchard road - the heeren), tasting local delicacies (old changkee, es potong, mos burger), crying over chicks on speed, having loads of fun :)
(for more pictures: http://scharahap.multiply.com/photos/album/33)

jakarta, 18 nov- february
day 1: arrival at 7pm WIB. chitchats in McDonalds. more chitchats while awaiting father's arrival from Medan in Afung. Left airport at 11pm. arrived home in Cinere around midnight.
day 2: lazy sunday afternoon. went to mousche salon with father. i got my bangs cut. father and mother loves it. went to prasetya mulya and met tata, audy, jidat, cek, kakek. they hate my haircut. went to pim2; ate in the food court and chilled at coffee bean. bought krispy kremes.
decided i will have to stick with my 'love-it or hate-it' bangs until it grows out.
apparantly the cosmos is making it difficult for me to upload a picture of my new bangs. sorry then, til next time :P

c'était mon anniversaire

(@ Lecka-lecka, Bukit Bintang)

birthdays are so overrated.
so today (Nov. 04) I turned 19 (the big one-nine, the final year before reaching adulthood)
yet after reaching a certain age, you start to lose that giddiness of being older, a special feeling of having a special day and of course, lesser presents. You wait the whole year for this one day, but once the day arrives, you are just confused on what to do. It seems irrelevant to hold parties anymore, and yet everyone you know just keeps on pestering you.
aah, birthdays.

midnight procrastination

food intake: famous amos soft cookies
drink intake: water
song played: muse - starlight
song favored: late night alumni - empty street

1 down, 1 more to go.
Yesterday I had my COM1020 (Intro. Communication Studies) exam, which went quite well.
Whats left is Wednesday's INT1020 (Contemporary Worlds 2) exam, which I'm ever-so dreading. Dreading with a capital D.
I predict this weekend to be boring. Everybody is pretty much studying for their exams... and money's tight. OUCH.

I don't know what else to say.
I know, I know, I'm hell BORING.

All in a day's work.

Shopping findings, horray! I <3 One Utama!

Item #1:
Black Tshirt + Black Satin Scarf
(Forever 21)

A few days ago ive come to realize that a black shirt is an essential, just like its counterpart, the everso favorite white tshirt. Yet, I intentionally was looking for a black polo, and figured since forever 21 didnt have any, why not just get the shirt instead? it's quite versatile anyway.

Item #2:
Black Suspenders
(Fourskin)

I've been hooked with suspenders since browsing the photos from facehunter.blogspot.com; and finding a pair in P&Co. (out of all places) which was hooked on a pair of slightly dissapointing short shorts. Then I thought to myself, "This would be cute on normal shorts" and ran off to find Astried.

Item #3:
Navy Blue Jumper
(Forever 21)

When I look at it, I feel guilty. I have a short sleeved blue jumper that I bought from Topshop, preferably from the "Buy me now!" rack, only for RM 50, which I now terribly regret buying. This jumper kicks that jumper's ass, why? because of the buttons! look at the beautfiul collar.. who would say no to that??

tiny regrets:
1. Not getting the Minz earrings. But what else could I do? I didnt have 80 RM on the spot.
2. Not getting to take a picture with DJ Blink. What could I do? He just passed by like that.
3. Not getting to walk into ZARA. What could I do? If I used cash, I would've been broke. If I used my card, I would be taking advantage of my parents. SIGH.

Conjunctivitis

my left eye, is swollen.
my right eye, is itchy and im afraid, might be swollen as well by tomorrow
the causes of my swollen eyes are still unknown.
some say it is allergies
some say it's baccteria
some say it's a stye
i think it's this.
but whatever it is, if by tomorrow is still there,
there goes my "accompanying-izuan-to-buy-his-girlfriend-earrings-and-maybe-stopping-by
-forever21" day.
sigh.
